World’s Paediatric Surgery Day 2026 Celebration IWK Eco Park

Petaling Jaya, 25 April 2026 — The Department of Paediatric Surgery at Hospital Tunku Azizah (HTA) successfully organized the World’s Paediatric Surgery Day 2026 celebration at IWK Eco Park, Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur, drawing approximately 200 participants comprising current and former patients, family members, healthcare workers, and members of the public.

The event, chaired by Dr. Wang Junyi, was officiated by the renowned Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and former Head of the Paediatric Surgery Department at HTA, Dato’ Dr. Zakaria Zahari.

The programme aimed to introduce and promote World’s Paediatric Surgery Day, observed annually on 7 April, while raising public awareness of paediatric conditions requiring surgical care. It also served to strengthen the relationship between patients, families, and healthcare providers.

A variety of engaging activities were organized throughout the day, including Zumba aerobics, exhibition and sales booths, a mini zoo, an interactive “Doctor for a Day” corner, games, magic performances, and a lucky draw, all of which contributed to the lively and festive atmosphere.

The celebration not only reflected the Department of Paediatric Surgery’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare services but also provided a platform to foster community support, solidarity, and meaningful connections between healthcare personnel and patients.

The department extended its sincere appreciation and gratitude to all participants, sponsors, staff, and contributors who made the event a success.
